Dress Measurements Guide

Need to send me your measurements for a custom dress?  Here's how.

The easiest way to take your measurements is to use a soft tape measure.  If you only have a stiff tape measure or a yard stick, you can use a piece of string to take your measurements and then measure the piece of string.

It may be helpful to have a second person - especially for measurements 5 and 6.

Please include all six measurements when you email me at michelle@manifold-witness.com.

1. Bust

Measure around your bust at the fullest point.  Keep the tape measure or string snug, but not tight.  The tape measure or string should go straight across your back.

2. Ribcage

Measure around your rib cage, just below your bust (where the band of a bra would sit).  Keep the tape measure or string snug, but not tight.  The tape measure or string should go straight across your back.

3. Waist

To find your natural waist, stand up straight and then bend gently to one side and notice where your body naturally creases.  Measure around that point.  You can also just measure around the smallest part of your waist.  Keep the tape measure or string snug, but not tight.

4. Hips

Measure around your hips at the fullest point.  (This may be below your actual hip bones.)  Keep the tape measure or string snug, but not tight.

5. Back Waist Length

Bend your head forward slightly and locate the most prominent bone at the back of your neck.  (Near the bottom of your neck.)  Measure from that point down to your natural waist.

6. Waist to Floor

Measure from your natural waist all the way down to the floor.
